From the pic you posted, it doesn't look like you have the handle as a seperate subtool.
Now, I'm sure there are other ways to do it, but I would probably duplicate the subtool, hide everything except the duplicate's handle, go to Tool>geometry>modify topology>delete hidden and then go Tool>geometry>modify topology>close holes.
Once, you have the subtool isolated, you can just turn on local transformation in the transform pallet coupled with dynamesh to get the handle looking the way you want!
