I'm a lot more productive when I'm not around my family. They've been telling me not to do this for a long time and them in relation to my work in my head is incredibly negative for a lot of reasons. Takes a lot of self motivating to work on stuff with them around all the time.
But worse I don't feel as creative or I'm spending time doing what I really want to do. But the spans I've time when I was away from them for weeks or a few months were wonderful for my work.
Good news is I'll be getting my own apartment soon! I feel like I haven't actually begun to progress my career yet because of this, but I know being on my own despite other difficulties will be much better for my work.
Part of it could be because I lack local art friends too. Been a lot more social online though which is why I've been able to do what I've done lately and make some progress in getting my work in games.
