Can't seem to find any tutorials on making a pearl shader without having Vray.
This is the look I'm going for

This is what I was able to come up with with a falloff, noise, and reflection map. The blue/green is based off the concept I'm needing to match.

I think that's the effect you're trying to achieve.
Ok so as it turns out my client is wanting something LIKE a pearl. Something like this http://www.gemselect.com/other-info/graphics/opal-gem-large_info.jpg
Sounds like you're using scanline maybe? Try adding a rainbow-colored image in the refraction channel.
