AO baking problem - white pixels on dark areas

I'm currently working on the low poly version of a knife (for the monthly noob challenge), on 3DS Max, and I keep getting this issue whenever I try to bake the ambient occlusion map, using the Default Scanline Renderer. I get these white pixels/artifacts, but only on the areas which are darker/deeper into the high poly model.

I should mention that the normal map is baking alright, I currently have no problems there. I've tried modifying the geometry a little and playing around with the render settings, but I haven't been able to fix this yet, or find a solution online. Do you know what might be causing it?
