Would you like a free MSc. / MA in 3D Animation / Games Art / Games Design / Visual Effects Based at (G+VERL) and The Centre for Creative Economy Research
The Offer
Incubation / office (with security key pass to cover any IP issues), computer space with pro software in the Film Music and Media building (FMM) (or other) / G+VERL including bespoke technical support throughout the year. Operating from G+VERL on a commercial basis.
Will follow the structure of the current MA but no research module (Business development replaces)
Final award: MA or MSc.
Possible Structure
Candidates must submit a proposal of work that is commercially possible with clear outcomes before a place is offered. IP shared with UH.
1. Business Development module Led by Richard Miller. Engaging in all aspects of business planning and development for Creative Industries. Module runs across the year. One to one sessions supported by other business school lecturers, consultants, Herts. LEP and UH biz. dev. Contact with business mentor form within the industry (Sony, Mill, Munky, Studio AKA, Screen South etc.) Final outcome business development plan.
2. Product / ideas development. Led by Neil Gallagher and Peter Richardson creative business mentor (D.Neg, MillFilm etc.) Creative England (Jaspal Sohal) and UH Unimation Team. Develop ideas into project / product.
3. Product / project realization. Final outcome a fully operational app / marketable game (Games pathway) or finished VFX project or sequences.
Outcomes
A fully functioning micro SME incorporated with UH as shareholder.
New IP
A new game product brought to market (year 2)
A new bespoke VFX project
SME competes in current and new market
Assessment
1. Business Plan
2. Blog / treatment etc.
3. Project completion.
Final award ‘extras’: possibility of one year free rent etc. in incubation space and continued biz. Dev. support for the launch phase of product / project. Help with marketing etc.
Financials
Fee / tuition waiver with the possible sponsorship from LEP to CA to offset expense ie: LEP pays tuition fees back to CA.
