Emerging Myself in Sci-Fi Influences

I was mostly into swords and magic stuff when I was a kid. However I want to make more sci-fi related models. So of course there is google, and robotech, and star trek and stuff like that. But was wondering if any sci-fi fanatics have any ideas on any other particularly amazing sci-fi artists or stuff I can do an extensive search on?

I'm particularly modeling a space colony/ ship. That's my current thing.

I think we'd be remiss if nobody brought up Peter Elson, Rob Cunningham, and J Aaron Kambeitz.

Elson begat Cunningham and Kambeitz... and Cunningham & Kambeitz's art begat Homeworld.

And the Homeworld visual DNA has gone wide and deep. No Man's Sky, Enemy Starfighter, Flagship, Contact Vector - they are all visually the children of Rob and Aaron's vision from Homeworld back in '99.
