Hey guys, I have some Steam Workshop/Paypal questions coming from a new player ( i started playing the game a few hours ago, and looks really nice) .
I want to start creating new items ( hats ):poly142:
Let's say that my items will be accepted in the game , here comes the question :
-> If the players will buy them, will the money be send into my Paypal/ bank account? If yes, how do I make the connection between my Steam account and Paypal/ bank account? ( because I heard that many ppl are making a living after selling the new models in Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2 )
Thanks for the answers and keep up the great work

Hint: There are people who make a living from Workshop items :poly131:
The money earned from the workshop is totally separate from your steam wallet. It goes directly to your bank account after you provide all the information to Valve. (it doesnt have to be the same account as the one you use to pay games with either.) You will be guided through all these steps once your item gets in.
Also, if you are lucky enough to be working from a country which has a tax treaty with the US, you will also have to contact the US tax services in order to obtain an identification number. This prevents the revenue to be taxed in the US before landing on your account. (that way, you only have to pay taxes in your country, as opposed to paying taxes in the US *and* in your country). This is an important step - if not, the revenue is cut by about 30%.
Additionally, we had this nice FAQ page that seems to be broken now. Maybe they are using something else for new items?

Luckily, Wayback Machine has a past image of it

Edit: Also, you wait for 90 days before getting paid for a certain item.
Quick question: Can I also make maps and sell them on the store?
I have no idea how the map scene works for TF2 but you can start reading here I guess:
