Its been a while since my last post. Here is what I'm working on at the moment.
Tweak is a tough little girl who has grown up fast in a a world going through some hard zombie/alien/demon/austerity times.
These are just quick Zbrush BPR renders of what I have so far but the plan is to bake this to game res and maybe throw in a vray render pass at some point.
Oh my god. This is fucking awesome. Straight to inspiration, this shall go!
Is most of that cloth done in an external program? I suggest you look at giving her face a bit of wear. Compared to her clothing/gear, her face is very clean. While it does attracts more attention to the facial area, I'd say a scratch or two would benefit the piece greatly.
Very Nice:) Unless you are planning a very dense lowpoly, those undulating folds are going to give you a lot of problems/odd lighting in the final bake. Programs like Marvelous Designer can kick out great looking folds, but they aren't very lowpoly friendly.
Enodmi: Your totally right about that. I have built her with game res animation in mind and I hope I have something that will work. The arm creases at the elbow especially I hope will deform favorably, but armpits might need some additional bones to get the volumes to move right, and some extra bones to give some physical movement to the hanging fabric.
Stevston - thanks
Abidus: your welcome
Ichll3D: meow
Polygoblin : cheers
Holland: bring biscuits and you've got a date
Scott: Flattery will get you everwhere!
Cay: Yes .. it is.
Tomasz: Give me time and I hope i wont disappoint
Stirls: Your too kind sir! Part marvelous deisgner, part Zbrush for the cloth work on the coat. The scratches on the face are a good idea and will come with the texturing phase.
amazing attention to detail dude, looks amazing. is the backpack started in marvelous designer too? also, for the alpha detail, are you unwrapping the models then using noise maker?
Dayuuuuum ! Are you serious?! Top notch stuff. You don't even have to tell the story as is it written all over the character already.
Thought it was for a future Naughty Dog game.
Just awesome.
Really great sculpt, loving the details! I'm guessing the fur, hair, and frayed threads were made with FiberMesh. Are they just being used for display purposes, or will you somehow make use of them during the baking process?
MattyWS : It's been about 4-5 weeks of a few hours in the evenings and long anti-social weekends...with about the same amount of time ahead to the finish line I reckon.
PaulP - the hair and stray fibers are a mix of fiber mesh and a 3dsmax plugin call Ornatrix...something that is worth taking a look at as its quite versatile. You can download the demo, which wont let you save a scene but doesn't mind you exporting the mesh it can create
mixeh . tile fabric patterns are applied on a mesh with UVs that wil work with each pattern.
When shes finished I'll do a proper breakdown of some of the tips and tricks.
Thanks for all of the comments, they mean a lot and I listen to all of them. There was a group chat about this character and it was mentioned that the face is too symmetrical.....she's actually very symmetrical and something i will definitely fix.
keep the comments coming and spread the love people.
First I have to apologize for not posting anything here in a while. Tweak is still WIP, and I do still plan to finish her soon, but I have a really good excuse.
I'm Now Lead Character Artist at Cloud Imperiums Foundary42 working on Star Citizen. Once I get my head around aliens and space marines I'l crack on with it.
