So I've hit a pretty bad snag...I recently installed Maya 2015 since my school switched from Max to Maya while I was deployed, and I've hit a problem. With my Desktop, whenever I Marquee drag using Viewport 2.0, the screen goes black until I rotate the view. My google-fu has been weak with this, and since I'm new to Maya I'm not sure if it's some sort of setting I need to change.
System Specs: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit, 8-core AMD processor (8350 @ 4.00), 16 gigs of 1866 RAM, AMD R9 290 4 gb video card. triple monitor setup, only 1 used for Maya.

Have you tried switching to OpenGL from DirectX (or vice versa)?
Have you tried resetting the Selection Tool?
And the lamest catch all solution... Have you tried deleting your Pref folder? (After backing it up of course.)
No clue what happened, but...well, it works now.
Like I said, it works now, for some odd reason. Maybe I did a deal with the devil while I was a sleep. But if there;s any more issues within the next few days I'll revive this. thanks guys!
Any ideas? My modeling project has been stopped in its track.
I've got this issue well, with a quadro - looks like a real problem with 2015 SP3. Maya 2014 VP2 works perfectly.
I'm in contact with them now and they have no idea what's causing this, so the more people on it the better. It's a serious bug because it can cause crashes when selecting objects in Maya.
Strange, though.
