Dell U2413 problem

I got this dell to replace my old Dell 2410, it worked great at the time until one one day it failed to turn on :(

So now i have this new dell u2413 that has great reviews on Amazon and loads of other websites but the thing i failed to read up on was the tinting problems that some units suffered from.

The problem is fairly simple to visualise, there's plenty of pictures of yellow tinting effects on Google images. What's wrong, is that the right hand side of the monitor appears to have a greater yellow value than the left side, this doesn't effect me much when gaming or watching a movie but when I'm doing work, in programs like 3Ds Max, Z Brush, Photoshop and so on the yellow tint stands out ALLOT on certain grey backgrounds.

I have read up and when ever people send back their monitors to dell with this problem the monitor they receive either has the same problem or a different problem.

Have any of you guys experienced this and what did you do to resolve it ?

Cheers guys!

Return it? Dell (In the US anyways) is usually awesome with returns. They will send the replacement ahead of you sending the defective item back. So zero down-time.

Spoke to dell this morning and turns out, amazon sold me a seller refurbished monitor but sold it under "NEW". So Dell are sending me a brand new one tomorrow and picking the faulty one in 2 weeks time. Seems a bit odd but oh well just glad that im going to be able to be distraction free when working :D Hopefully this one doesn't have any new problems.

Glad to see Dell has not changed and it worked out well for you. It is the reason why I keep buying Dell monitors.

You've tried to actually change your cables? I had the problem where my monitor would randomly shut off and sometimes just stay black. Took me a long time to figure out that the actual cable I used was the problem (rarely problems with spanking new cables tbh)
