I would love feedback on my Compact Attack Helicopter. I'm fleshing it out on the fly with no real direction so any criticism on the design is more than welcome.
@s6 - nice detail, the helicopter is looking good so far. I would suggest making the blades longer.
I'm not great at concepting so I'm just going for it :P My idea is a massive knight riding a small chicken in a jousting tournament. Going for a stylised Pixar-esque look. I haven't really done any character work before so any critique would be really appreciated.
Here's an early block out of the Pilots suit. I've trying to create some interesting shapes while drawing some inspiration of wetsuits and scuba diving suits.
Also great idea to do a what are you working on thread, it's awesome to see how everyone elses work is progressing.
Alright finally some updates for you guys, clothing blocked out refined the forms a bit more, blocked out the hands a bit, got rid of her shemagh, and did that weird looking collar thingy instead, she's staying bald i love the look. .annnd changed my mind about the hardcore desert survivor(still desert/rocky/dusty themed though), going to give the lizard a beard(not sculpted:P) and wear and tear to show off his old age, so still a ton to do..But for now i need some sleep. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=136844
Im gonna be using scan data I captured of myself as a base for my pilot. I heavily decimated the body scan to start blocking out the gear placement. I'm gonna do a refined blockout in zbrush later, but this is still almost concepting.
On a semi-related note, does anybody have any suggestions as to how I might start my own content? I spent about an hour just looking for a thread about contests, but culdn't find anything. If anybody has a link, I would be eternally grateful!! Keep up the awesome work, guys!
K recieved plenty of help from the guys in polycountsHangout. so redid the pants for the fourth time, much happier with this result, the folds make more sense,(still kind of crappy though lol) so their high polys are pretty much done now, just a few more touchups. The fur/beard on the lizard is just to get an idea of the concept i had in my head, going to be making alpha cards for that. So all that's left for high poly is the diorama and weapon.
Alright more updates , baking was so weird,..anyway started to handpaint their albedos need to start painting her clothes and work on the eyes more(that stare) also excuse the crapy edge/flow topology(going to work on getting that better with my next project and better use of polygons) she sits at 50k, lol couldn't hit the 100k i wanted, and he's around 28k.. once his eyes/ all textures are finished being painted i'll go in quixel and start up specs/gloss then onto his hair cards...
