that elk is real massive indeed.
would be cool if its massiveness would come through a bit more in the proportions.
you know either slender long legs and neck, or super bulked up in muscle.

just something that doesn't look like an elk scaled x1,5

@Goeddy - I agree. I plan to play with the proportions of the elk a bit once I get him into zbrush and see if I can find some shapes that are a bit more whimsical.

@Anthricus - Nope, no specific person. I have a collection of several faces that have vibes I'm looking for and I kinda blend them into my own thing.

I've been super busy with work, but trying to keep working on this. Here's my latest progress...
