3DS Max - Viewport geometry flickering/disappearing

Halp please! Every now and then when I move around the vireport, my geometry turns to wireframe or disappears for a second then when I move it goes back to normal.

It's extremely annoying! Sometimes everything disappears when I'm create a selection box too.

As you can see in the last image, I don't have wireframe selected at the top left. It feels like it's glitching out when it's trying to refresh the geometry. I dunno. I did check "don't degrade geometry" but it hasn't helped.

No one has any idea why this is happening?

Do you have adaptive degradation toggled on? It's assigned to the O key by default. Not sure whether it's the same as the "don't degrade" option you mentioned.
