Hello there!
I have recently started doing weapon concepts for DOTA2 heroes
and ...
I am looking for 3d artists for cooperation
Here's the full album of my creations containing around 25+ weapons so far

Everything in it - bellow Slardar weapon is unfinished early concept that was more or less a brush testing for new software I am not really used to yet, so those are not final by any means.
The list is also in early stages, my plan is to create at least 1 weapon for each hero soon.
Are you up for cooperation in that field?
If so (and if You use steam) - add me @

Could you please add me on steam to talk about it?

Ember Spark is the Ogre Magi weapon that resembles... dragon head. It was designed that way because i always liked the flame that is integral part of this hero weapon model. So fire breathing dragon was the first thing that could come to my mind since this hero was released. His main weapon looks like a fire-breathing-pig (?)
It was made in a collaboration with sir "Rock It"
result on steam
damn the poly limit/texture size limit for this hero are wayyy too rough
Thanks for your time!
Riki
Doom
Bounty Hunter
Faceless Void
Huskar
Phantom Lancer
Wrath King
Disruptor
Radiant Tower concept (base customisation?)
As always - you can check full imgur album here
What sort of process do you use?
Thank You To be honest... it is all done with the use of a single custom brush in Corel Painter X3 - after the main illustration process is done, i switch to Photoshop and add textures / tweak contrast and lightning etc
First of all Corel Painter allows to use mirror painting, and it works as wonderful as it sounds second deal for me was the way colors are mixed in that software, it picks underlying colors with ease and makes it natural.
Still - photoshop is my go-to soft for further tweaks. I apply some textures with overlay/multiply onto the object, sharpen it out with Unsharp Mask (5 radious, 20% strength)
I will make a video tutorial soon* as well as some process images. But i am a very chaotic person and it shows in my creative process - i never start off with the idea in mind, all of my drawings just come to life in the process. I just paint randomly until i feel like it reassembles a shape I do enjoy - and than its a constant tweak/color play...
here's a simple before photoshop/after comparsion in high resolution
Thank You guys
I'm interested to do your huskar weapon, PM me if you are interested.
I've completed the spear, here's the preview
The general rule of thumb around here with collaborations is to wait for a concept artist to post some ideas, then contact them about taking the project on as the modeler, animator..whatever it is you bring to the collab.
The reason we do that is because nobody wants to step on other artists toes, so it's kind of a "first come, first serve" method. It wouldn't be very productive to have 5 people modeling the same concepts every time
It works though, because there's a ton of concept artists around here looking for 3d artists to collab with, so everyone gets a fair chance to make some items.
