Mesh fusion artifacts?

I'm getting some artifacts when I subtract with mesh fusion. I'm very new to the plug-in so am really just looking for a better understanding of the tool. Everybody seems to show videos of how to use it, but nobody seems to record common problems/ limitations and how they're resolved.

first image shows artifacts around border


second image shows that the mesh surface on top does not align with the line work of the cut that was made right below.

Add more geometry to the objects you're using fusion on. Especially the cutter. If you look at the example objects that come with mf you'll see they try to maintain an even distribution of geometry.
