Do you think we will ever see it coming back? The art those competitions produced was incredible, and the sense of community/team spirit induced some kind of patriotic buzz.

Can't do because:

Why did you envy those that participated? There is zero barrier to entry with almost all online contests. Its not an exclusive club that's allowed to participate.

Yeah, though Petrol/Blood does have a barrier of entry which is why I know I'm not participating since Photoshop specifically is a requirement to use the Quixel suite.

A 30 day trial of Photoshop should be enough to cover some texturing time, and it isn't a requirement to use the Quixel suite for everything as long as you use it somewhere along the way. And since Adobe's about to add a large amount of new things it's likely they'll be resetting trials if you've used it already.

You guys can always go back to DW1 and challenge yourselves to do the set all over again with a new character...Just a thought.

We also have Battle of the Titans going on right now. It's pretty close to Dominance War in its theme and the prize pool is pretty awesome. There are already almost 150 contestant and some badass art being produced.

As with the Petrol/Blood contest with the Quixel Suite, you don't have to do everything in Substance, just to use it at some point in the creation process using the trial for example.
