Does ptex work with 3dsmax 2014 mental ray?

I am considering using ptex for my 3d masters project animation.Its going to be arch viz.I want to experiment with it and see how useful it can be in my pipeline.I understand its used for films and not games.
The animation I will be making will be done with mental ray using 3dsmax(I have to say 3dsmax is better than Maya,been using Maya for a long time..just switched). I have decided not to use Corona since we don't have it on our renderfarm in school.Has anyone tried Ptex with 3dsmax mental ray for realistic animation and stills and how intuitive was it with your workflow and pipeline?
