I made this character for my Characters for Games class final. Its based off of a pilot concept that Karl Kopinski did. Used Maya, ZBrush, Xnormals to crank out some maps and renered in Marmoset.

I realize He has a bunch of accessories in the concept. I'm sure I'll go back and model those at some point.

Critiques are welcomed.

    Overall, not bad. I think the face could use more love...both in sculpt and texture. He looks pretty generic and blank faced whereas in the concept he has a very stern expression and more unique features. Folds look solid but probably could use more depth given the size of the clothing. His jacket inner lining padding looks wrong too. It is very large and flat in your version and doesn't read like the same type of material. I think you should definitely go back and do the accessories as well as making the base a bit more interesting cuz right now the overall presentation is pretty boring and lacking of any umph. A lot of his personality comes from the fact that he's a pilot and you didn't do any of his accessories that allude to that..the helmet, the oxygen mask, the pressure gauge, etc. Go back and finish this guy off...do him justice...

    Thanks for the critique. I agree with everything you said. It was really a time crunch to getting this done on top of my 5 other classes this term. So i had to skip out of the accessories.

    It was really a just a learning process, this is the first game ready model I've ever made with proper maps. But I'm definitely going to do the accessories and update the base as well.
