What role does Yui.Yahooapis.com have with Polycount?

I just denied any & all connections to 'yui.yahooapis.com' and Polycount browsing sped up significantly for me.
Prior to denying connections to this domain, polycount would often hang or stall until I stopped the page from loading. Wondering if anyone else has had these issues as well...

Is there a purpose for yui.yahooapis.com here?

Looks like the site swaps files to yui and saves traffic. Its like a sharehoster for websites. Sometimes yui slows down and so polycount.
