i know that they look so flat, and need alot more details, but i'm really beginning from zero at painting, what do you guys think? Oh also the low poly topology, if there are some tips to improve them would be nice! :poly122:
Sorry for my english :poly135:

Reflections, highlights...but i'm learning alot
Sharper edges pick up higher value highlights, especially if they're within the light sources direction.
This is generally how I start my base metal for things completely hand painted. If I'm using reflection maps then I normally stop at the second part unless I'm looking to add specific highlights. Metals tend to have imperfections as well.
It's a lot of fun to paint metal once you get the hang of it. Next to wood it's probably my favorite.
And what odow said would be really good practice it will be much more difficult but a really good idea and ill prob give it ago myself cant believe i didnt think of it :P
Thanks Chimi Jimi

I think its lacking a lot of primary shading though. you would really benefit from adding a few gradients from top to bottom over the whole prop, and ad some overall AO shading.
EDIT: When looking at your sketchfabs I realized turning it back to "shaded" mode makes your stuff looks a lot better in my opinion. a sign that they need more overall shading to held define the big shapes.
I never used to bake AO maps, do you think it can help? I will give it a try, anyway you mean AO in the hand-paint right?
And yes, on sketchfab, shaded mode looks cool .-. i need to understand how to get this effect just painting xD thx for the help!
