I only ask because for some reason the books kinda felt out of place to me, maybe if they were shaped differently they may have a more alien feel to them. But it's minor anyway, can't wait to see more!
The curved ends of the bookshelves could use some extra sides - the edges are quite visible. Given their size, a 40-sided base tube wouldn't be unreasonable, but it'd probably be fine with 28 or 32 instead of the current 20.
You might want to think of ways of making the familiar objects more alien. The books especially look very normal. Even for humans, baby books often have odd shapes & sizes.

It more seems like the low was outside of the high a bit when the bookshelf was baked or that the smoothing needs to be changed on the low. I can see where the normals end and don't affect the edges. Adding more edge loops isn't a bad idea at all, but I would also make sure the high is fully projecting onto the low.
And yeah, Mot is adorable right?
I wish Looney Tunes would have featured him more.
Thx Stockwell Instead of a horse alien thing, I will put a human in the scene.
Next Update ...
I made a backpack for him, I know there are no belts, but I make there later direct on top of the alien suit. I try to think like a little child and put random stickers and color on the surface.
The decorations on the backpack, especially the stickers, seem too ordinary. Would an alien baby have depictions of Terran animals (elephant, octopus, etc.) or the more common creatures of its home world? The English text is especially jarring; while I'm certain there are odd aliens who speak Terran just as there are odd humans who speak Klingon, I doubt many of those are toddlers.
Backpacks usually have multiple compartments - at least a main one and a smaller front pouch. Perhaps the 'dome' of the saucer could pop open or slide to one side.
I work on another version for the backpack design, I try to keep a few stickers without text. I don't want to make a hyper realistic looking backpack, I want more a kind of using design, because a kid will play with his stuff.
Solid update, can't wait to see how this evolves! It might be helpful to add some slight variations to the geometry of the feet/legs as they look identical to the hands/arms.

that's a cute one, I will show my baby version, when I have finished the sculpting.
