Hi there Polycount, just wondering what, in your opinion, is the best learning resource centralized around using software such as Maya and 3DSmax to create assets for use in games.
I am currently subscribed to digital-tutors and there is a lot of useful tutorials on there, but many of them are not what i'm looking for, I think there is only a couple of game related modelling videos where it teaches you how to create game ready assets instead of the high poly stuff.
I have also tried Lynda.com but opted to unsubscribe for digital tutors.
So, am I looking in the wrong place? The main thing i'm looking to learn right now is texturing game assets, I can work my way around Maya, but I don't know things like when to use normal maps, when or when not to take my models to zbrush or if i'm meant to at all... I guess it all depends on what i'm working on, but still it's all so confusing.

Other than that, probably most modelling tutorials are relevant to games. Also check out the wiki here, there's a lot of information texturing, normal maps, all sorts of stuff.
