hi,
i'd like to run an application on a PC and record it's video output on a second computer, a macbook pro specifically. does anybody have experience with capture hardware that would take a DVI or HDMI signal and convert it all into nice, uncompressed video or frame sequences on the receiving side and works reliably?
output resolution of 1080p would be required at a minimum - and an output format that is useful in post-production software.
oh and - i do know about FRAPS, thanks.

Fraps works good up to a point, but only works locally and strains the CPU while it's at it.
i've found this one from blackmagic design though, which looks like it would fit the bill:

my laptop has a thunderbolt port so that would match up, just wondering though if this kind of technology is popular with PC's at all? would hate to buy a piece of kit that then only works on one platform - and only as long as apple thinks it fashionable.
i only found years old articles regarding a few PC mainboards with thunderbolt support.
