Ok, this one might not be something that the average digital-arts-only Polycount type is going to jump at, but I figure it's worth mentioning for those who do a bit of making on the side. And hey, everyone loves lasers.

My esteemed colleague, Mr Domenic DiGiorgio, taking a break from helping design massive animatronic creatures with Global Creature Technology has begun a Kickstarter for a low cost consumer grade laser cutter/engraver.

I don't have much need for engraving, but this would be amazing to have about for quicky inexpensive proto-types. At that price point though it's taking a backseat to saving for a 3D printer. Hey, then I can just print a laser cutter right? RIGHT?? :poly142:

Nice, I've been wanting something like this for a while now. I've been getting into RC aircraft lately and this would be way more useful than a 3D printer for what I build.
