Maya Attribute Editor: ctrl-drag to change values?

When using the attribute editor in Maya, I've tried ctrl-dragging over values, but I can't get the invisible sliders to work. I've tried setting the preferences to both two-button and three-button control, but neither works. Middle mouse button drag works in Channel box, but not in Attribute Editor. I tried resetting the prefs file, and no dice. Anyone else encountered this?

It works here with ctrl+RMB for rough value changes, with crtl+MMB for medium and ctrl+LMB for subtle changes. You have to click into the textfield

Thanks for the info, it works for me now but only with a tablet, not with the trackball/mouse. Weird.
