First Sculpt, Would Like Feedback

This is my first character model/ sculpt and would love some feedback from anyone willing to give it. I made the base mesh in Maya and did the sculpting in ZBrush. It is based on the Dungeons and Dragons monster the Beholder originally owned by TSR and currently owned by Wizards of the Coast. I would really appreciate any improvement suggestions and possibly some tips and tricks in the future for how to create better products in ZBrush.

Sincerely,
Logan Shepard

I think you did a pretty good job especially for your first sculpt. I would suggest that you give that monster an eye because it would improve it´s look. Finally some polypainting and you could be done.

Thank you sir, yeah I did plan on putting an eye in there and of course on the eye stalks too but I think I am going to wait until I get back into Maya where I can make a really nice eye for rendering but I have to retopo next and then I agree I do need to go through and do some polypainting, thank you very much.

I am impressed for your first sculpt. Seems you have a pretty good grasp on ZBrush already. I'd use inflate brush on those saggin wrinkles a little bit, it will help make them seem a little more fleshy and also improve the illusion of gravity.
Keep it up, man. The Beholder was always a freaky monster to encounter. :D

Nice! I'm impressed... But I don't think you should retopo it... If it's your first sculpt I would advise you to try out a few other sculpts (concepts) before you bother doing that.

Good point, I will definitely do that I think making it feel pulled down by gravity has so far been then hardest part of this project and I think that might just help make this a more successful piece. Thank you very much. Secondarily yes it has always been a freaky encounter because everyone knew they were going to die or be awesome lol, thank you again.

That's a solid thing to think about, when I get to my next sculpt I will definitely post it on here and get some more feedback. I am just trying to run through the whole process of character development but I think you have a point thank you.

Forgot to update this so here is the close to final product for my Beholder sculpt. I will admit the Maya transfer has lighting that is off, but I think it gets the idea across, let me know what you guys think.
