Hi! I've been loving PC for a while now and thought it was time to start contributing myself. I have some experience in 3D modeling and got back to it again, rediscovering it in a way.

Comments and crits always welcome

And please, tell me if there are any basic PC-functions I am totally missing!

I'm currently working on a model based off of one of Zephyri's concepts posted in the 2D ConceptBank thread:

Finished the model pretty much and started texturing, and wow, it is much harder and more time consuming than it seems!

here's my progress so far, crit much wanted and needed!

Hey luksa17, that's a good start, before you start texturing you gotta take a step back and refine a bit more. When working on a stylized concept you should look at the bigger shapes and imagine them as just simple objects. This makes it easier to capture the silhouette. This guy is basically 3 spheres with the sphere for the head flattened a little bit on the front.

Once you have a better feel for the volume of the character, imagine a simple topology over the character, this will give you a great handle on modeling him out.
Here is a quick example I painted, keep it basic and broad, refine it once all the major shapes look correct.

I hope that helps, keep at it :thumbup:

Really nice start. One thing I keep going back to is how straight your legs are. I'd angle them slightly just to get a more natural feeling of weight pushing down from his upper body. Hope it helps, keep pushing it!

Thanks for the crits guys! Reworked the model using your feedback and I have to say the result is much better. It may not be perfect, but I am happy with the basic "shape" of the character.

    Here's a screen, with wires for a change :)

Here's a quick update with a bit more details added, and more work has been added to the shape and form of the character. I also decided to stay more true to the original concept

    Comment and Crits appreciated!
