hey guys!
i'm working on an architectural project which includes a lot of trees, of whatever kind, flowers ,etc. it's a hotel / mall thing.
so i'm trying to keep polygon count low. it's for my daily work,so i guess it's considered commercial...
i'm working on 3ds max. if anybody wants to share some files, post here or gimme a shout via PM. thanks dudes (and dudettes)

This thread is good
There are also a few freebie models included in vanilla 3ds Max, go to the Creation panel, AEC Extended, Foliage.

Pretty good deal considering the time it saved me and how expensive the good foliage generating softwares are. I wouldnt worry about polycounts to much since you can use vray proxies.
Thanks a bunch dude.

However, unless your tree is high poly, composing the final image will become a pain in the ass since some of your render passes will only take the LP geometry in account.
Photoshoping stuff behind foliage even with render ID and object ID passes(as they only see geometry and not alpha maps)will be very long and difficult.
I would use render farms for your renders, that's what I do when I have tight shedules and you can get them in minutes for a few bucks. ( try rebus render farm)
Thank you!!
thanks for this!
