Started this during the The Monthly 'Newb' CHARACTER Challenge in April. Never really got to flesh it out til now. Thought I'd start a new thread for it since I was going to continue it.
Awesome, i like it heaps, looking forward to seeing more!
The face in the concept has a more sharper/squarer jaw compared to your model, unless you are going for a different face style.
The model itself look good, but it would help if you mentioned whether or not youre follwing the concept to the T.
If so, id broaden up the shoulders, add mass to the chest region and really shrink down his waist and lengthen those legs
His stomach and hips are too wide, on the concept you have this overtuned thin french stereotype, which is the core of the concept, and in your sculpt he is more like a slightly overweight american woodworker or Brad Pitt. Look at the chin, what difference it alone makes (sharp, pointy and edgy, yours is soft and round). You gotta bring this slim line in, thats vital.
From the sculpting side it looks good so far
codyaq2 - Thanks! Face still needs work. I want to try and get some of those sharp features down next. Hopefully it will look okay in the low poly.
Yourname942 - haha weird.
butt_sahib - Following the concept fairly closely. Want the silhouette and mid level detail to read as the concept but I'm not too worry about nailing every wrinkle placement. I also added a few things that's not in the concept that I thought might add a bit. So, short answer not 100% maybe 85-90%? Thanks for the critic!
Shrike - Thanks man! Awesome critic. I can see what you mean. Worked a bit on the head but that's what I want to tackle next.
Neox - I agree! Need to do more head measuring and adjusting.
Update!
Thanks for all the critics hope this looks a bit better. Broaden the shoulders and chest but I think the big issue was the mid section and waist like you guys said. Lengthen the legs a touch to give it a more big upper body and a long slim lower body look.
