hey guys just wondering. I cant seem do update OpenGL for my machine. Ive tryed reinstalling the drivers in my graphics card but to no avail. I cant run mari, apparently I have 3.1 but it needs 3.2. However the latest is 4.4?
I know the new nvidia drivers do a decent job of upgrading , but have you tried uninstalling your old drivers first then installing the new ones?
Also where are you getting the information that you are running Open GL 3.1?
Mari is telling me. When I updated recently I tryeid a fresh install. Ill try and see if there is a way to see what version of open GL im using. Mabey Mari thinks im using the wrong version.
Try using something similar to Driver Sweeper / DDU on top of uninstalling your Driver, before installing an updated one - maybe some bits and bobs are not properly cleaned and end up confusing Mari.
Usually most motherboards that I've used will automatically switch when a graphics card is installed. You can check in your bios to see if can be switched there. Also reseat the card and check device manager to see if your OS actually sees the nvidia card.
As DavePhipps has said you need to turn off the built in gpu on your mobo via your bios as this can cause issues with drivers. You also need to completely remove every trace of the old nvidia driver including registry entry's.
I do the steps below with every driver update as it rules out driver issues which you seem to be having:
Derp, I hooked my monitor directly into the HDMI for my PC, bypassing my Graphics card. In my excuse I wansnt the one to build this rig, lol. Thanks guys!
