Help me pick portfolio pieces

Hello! These are some environmental models I made lately but I can't really decide which ones I should use for my portfolio. I just looked at every one of them so many times that my eyes can't see what is bad and what is good anymore :). So I would appreciate some help here - which ones are worth showing? Also some feedback on individual pieces would be nice. Thanks a lot!

your props are not bad, just they don't shine enough to be presented one by one I think, if you create an environment with pieces around this quality and some good lighting it would present a lot better.

I certainly wouldn't include simple props in your portfolio such as a wooden barrel. You need to push yourself more. Find a concept or do something a little more complex. You're trying to wow somebody with your portfolio. So much so that they won't forget you in the midst of dozens of other portfolios. Easier said than done, I know. But that's what you should be aiming for.

I think your UV's could use some work as well. Try and work more with it. Be as efficient as you can be. If something is similar with no unique details overlap the UV's. If something has a curve and is taking up 1/3 of the UV space because of it, straighten it out. Try to stitch more UV islands together as well.

I know UV's aren't the most fun part of the creation process. But it is something that needs to be done efficiently.

Also, I'd echo what Jonas has said. If you want to sell yourself as an environment artist you should do some larger environment scenes as well.

    Hope this helps!

Fix those curved cylinder UVs. Make them straight or hide those. Showing off UVs is like showing wireframes a lot of times. People don't often look at the wireframe or UVs and think it's efficiently done (at least not most of the time). I wouldn't show your UVs personally. At least till yours are packed like SkankerZero's.

Those are OMFG packing of awesomness.

As for the props, etc. It takes me half the page of scrolling to get through the 1 prop! That shouldn't be. I should be able to load your site and instantly see all your work, or thumbnails, or whatever. Honestly by the time I got to the second prop I kinda forgot what the first one was and had to scroll back up.

Also these aren't environments. They're props like Jonas and Tobbo said.

I would say none of those are worth showing as one offs. i would put all of them into a scene like someone else suggested or consolidate them onto maybe a couple sheets. And also as someone else mentioned, your UV work needs much improvement. Make a couple more complex props to use as one offs.

I'd have to agree that you'd be better off with each project on its own page, with a main page with thumbnails.

The proportions on the fire hydrant are very odd. The top is much too tall, and the body is a bit short.

I'd also agree that a complete scene would be better, but you can't really just use your current props - there are too many disparate styles.

The black faces on the arches are odd; you'd be better off using a cement texture, or even a neutral gray.
