Working on a new character in my free time. It's a bit rough but I wanted to put it up here to get some feedback before i get too deep into it. Critique and comments are welcome.
Looks pretty awesome to me! I don't know if you plan on moving her the cloth looks really realistic and I suppose it won't look good when deforming if there is no simulation running.
Awesome, thank you for the encouragement. Work is crushing my free time but when I do have it, full steam ahead!
Firith: that's a good point. A cloth sim would be nice. I'm hoping I can get away with blending compression and tension maps to help the normal read correctly during deformation, and maybe some flappy joints on the bottom.
Jeff Parrott: Haha I seem to have veered from the concept!
PyrZern: They're conflicting a bit, aren't they? I did them before I added her camping nick-nacks on the back. I'll rebuild them.
I agree with Pyr regarding the cloth folds. From the front it reads like a very lightweight shirt material whereas on the back it looks more like a stuff leather or canvas.
It's been a bit slow going trying to find free time but I've managed to make some progress. She's turning into some kind of space rogue, maybe an awesome krull-like laser sword pistol would fit in. I'm still trying to flesh out her niknaks... Not sure how to feel about it all yet.

Jeff : with the proper color treatment on the gear and outfit that could very well be her !
Oh god. Thanks for that imagine, I am not sure if I will stop laughing for a while.
Looks really nice, looking forward to more
but it does look pretty good so far.
She looks great otherwise.
