Hello Polycounters! This is my second post here, and I am starting up a sketchbook thread and all critiques are welcome. I drew inspiration from some of my favorite games, and gave it a shot. I have seen so many amazing works here, ever since I started lurking several months ago, but now lurking is over, and it's time to start doing.
First and second shot at game asset creation, the goal was "flying combat robots".
Any feedback is welcome.

I had the chance to sculpt in zBrush, so I decided to do a study. Skulls!
I used multiple references of different skulls. In hindsight, I should have focused on one skull from multiple angles.

I made a lot of mistakes during this painting, the biggest two would be taking too much time and overthinking. Time is up for painting, and now it's time to model.
But anyways, is it too detailed? How about the composition? Values?
