Not sure where else to post this, as it's a question regarding rendering in 3D Studio max
I've been modeling game assets and messing around in 3D for some years now, but never got the hang of rendering or felt the need to learn. I'm so used to modeling, uving and texturing my models in Photoshop.
Now I need to learn how to render materials as if it was for film production
There are barely any tutorials on quality material setup and rendering, and ones that I have found are poor quality..
I'll add some examples as attachments of the work similar to what I'm trying to do
Any help would be great

We have some good resources here about lighting

The help file in Max is a good place to start, for scenes like your examples above. For example, mentalray in Max 2014:

This whitepaper on using the mentalray renderer is also a good reference.

I wouldn't be so sure about that
Assuming you have V-Ray, buy a few of these tutorials. They are AMAZING.

Cinema 4D seems to have really simple rendering, materials and emphasis on using 3D for graphic design purposes (which is what I need)
I just don't want to come out of my comfort zone of Max
Any more tips/tuts would be gladly accepted
