Alright I'm in between a rock and a hard place. And I request any assistance from you wonderful artists.
Nextgen Hair!
I have always had a hell of a time creating solid looking hair! it ether is a giant pain in the ass or never looks right.
Currently for work I'm building a very short military style hair cut (almost shaved but long enough where I need the silhouette) and out side of hand placing tons of hair planes I don't have a good solution that does not take hours.
My request: Any one have good resource and or tool set that may help me out when it comes to speeding up / making game based hair less painful?
If it helps I'm building this in UE4 so I have a pretty large window for density. Even if its geo heavy but usable solution; that would be wonderful. I'm just looking to speed things up.
Thank you all ^__-

What 3d modeling software are you using? In 3ds Max there are easy ways to automatically distribute the hair planes across your character's scalp, so they're all pointing up, outwards from the skin. Might be a good start. Look at the GOW2 example.
