I am looking for critique on my new portfolio project a corridor in a sci-fi style. I am working on fixing the problem with the seam down the pillars but any ideas on how to resolve this would also be appreciated.
Hey dude, looking good, I would say maybe look into bringing the specs out a lot more just to get that metal look on some of your objects. Are you working from Concept?
Its a good start! But actually a lot of surfaces looks like they are from 2-3 generations earlier. There are hard edges everywhere, and everything is so angular. The fat pipes looks as they are from stone or something like this. and you are using too much texture tiling. Also, some of the elements are looking a bit boring. I would really recommend to make panel lines, screws, rectangle bevels, etc, with normalmap, and forget to use those tiling textures on everything. Here is a super quick paintover to show what I mean, maybe it will help more.
After you made them more interesting, and less "old gen" looking, you should work on the material definitions.
