Now that I finished school I have time to do this project
(fulltime). :poly142: This will be an abandoned town inspired by
THE LAST of US and
I AM Legend. I will post the blockout later.
The Trees and grass that are in the scene were not made by me they are just placeholders. I will add my own Vegi later.
There is still lots more to do and add, so stay tuned.
The
spec on some assets probably needs further work also.
Please give me constructive critique
PS: Sorry for the low quality images. My laptop can only handle one image, hd render at a time. And taking multiple shots from different angles in CE3, for some reason kills my RAM.

Keep going!
The street light is finished but I'm still working on the traffic light. The post is already done. Right now I'm finishing up the actual light part (bottom render). The last thing I will add is the crossing signal.
You textures so far on the building and road are really nice I think this is going to turn out very cool.
Also, look up pictures of the city of Pripyat -- that's the area right around the Chernobyl disaster. They've started letting people in to the area and the photographs are amazing. You'd be surprised by how quickly trees will take over roads.
I mainly used other reference aswell
But thanx for the comparison
Now I need to get some sleep
I also baked the other parts aswell and will texturing them today
Wow, Great texturization wireframe pls!
May be worth seeing the asset in situ to get more of a sense of perspective.
Brill texturing though IMO

Here is the Wire and 2 shots from CRYENGINE 3.
The texture resolution in MT2 is 2k and in CE3 I compressed it to 1k.
Looking forward to how this progress's.
For me it's still incredibly difficult to look at grey boxes and think about the finished scene..
I'm excited to see more progress!
You mean the last shot I posted right? (Day/Night time).
It's the same believe me
I'll make it less noisy
nice, looking forward to that!
and also.. wanna see some progress here :P
we're doing a techdemo in unity over the next few months, trying to push it as much as possible (pbr and such)..
I'm basically trying to soak up every piece of info I can grasp about environments as long as there's still time for pre production and such.. oh and yeah, still student, so there's a lot of work ahead
So I finally added my own grass .
The trees that are placed in the scene are still placeholders but will be updated in the following days.
I also added the alley wall which I will break up with decals and ivy later.
The street has now some dirt and puddles but I still need to add some more I think.
Street lights and Telephone poles have been added but still need the texture.
There will be alot of ivy and other foliage growing at all kinds of (reasonable) places also.
I will also add the big concrete wall with a barb wire on top of it which will be across the street.
Cheers,
I'm also getting close to finishing up the scene but I'm not rushing myself through this project. I want it to be as good as possible. So stay tuned
Here are a few new shots aswell.
The transition from sidewalk/asphalt to grass seems a little abrupt. You might look at crysis 2 or something to get some ideas of making a better transition, maybe textural details like dirt and vines on the pavement.
this one
I also finished the SWAT car today.
cheers
