You did a great job on the clothing, even though the folds around the breast area look illogical to me.
However the face is bringing down the overwhole quality of this character. Nothing wrong with the anime style you went for but you could have pushed it a lot further, it looks like there wasn't much work put into the face compared to the rest of the character.
So my crits would be :
- work on the eyes, they lack eyelashes, maybe put a little bit of make up to make them pop.
- change her expression, she looks really dull right now.
- more color variantion in the skin wouldn't hurt
Other than that, really nice job. I especially like the pants
Not digging her face. At best, she looks Asian... I'm sure Jaina isn't Asian. No it's not racist, I'm Asian
You might want to base her likeness from illustrations. Some of them are based off of what would a daughter of Ford and Fisher look like.
Note: I suppose this your reference. Seeing how you get wrinkles and stuff from it.
It looks great, I'd say the folds on the shirt are a bit excessive and hard though, a shirt wouldn't look like that unless the folds had been meticulously ironed in. If realism isn't such a concern, I can understand that those kind of hard folds look cool and have impact but I'd still push them back and remove like half of them.
The face just isn't working for me though. It seems too flat and lifeless at the moment and that's compounded when you contrast it with the excellent work on the body. I have't seen your source for this piece (maybe a picture of the figure in question would help) but off the top of my head I'd say that the eyes look too shallow, maybe add a bit of depth (not too much I get that youth is an important element here) and also some detail. There's also something off about the mouth, the inward curve on the upper lip looks too severe but maybe that's just the lighting.
Also colours, I know this is a piece based on a figurine and not a realistic approach but even so I'd consider this, flesh is not a uniform colour, it only has to be subtle but try and incorporate some very very gentle blues, reds and greens into the flesh, take a look at some reference material so you're not just doing it haphazardly, but you'd be amazed at how even the subtle inclusion of some colour around the eyes and mouth in particular brings a piece to life.
Also finally in terms of presentation, I'm not a fan of the black (near black) background it's flattening the piece out and we're losing the details at the top and bottom. experiment with other backgrounds, if you want to keep it black (or try a cold colour like a dark blue or green to contrast the warm oranges) maybe experiment with having the BG colour fade subtly to a dark grey around the middle. You could even play with a rim light.
I think the overall feel of the piece is great.
My main irk is the face though, give that some mega attention - as its what viewers look at first and for the longest time. At the minute it looks like youve used an anime bash mesh or something, so give it some love. I'd advise looking at her makeup, she could do with eyelashes and a bit of eyeliner/mascara
I agree with the folds being too harsh on her top, just run a smooth brush along them and theyll be spot on.
I like the fact that everything is chunky, would be a nice piece to print out I think
There are many things that I really like about this !! First and foremost, I love how you made the natural hair look a bit like Han's. Very smart move, and a much more interesting result than the reference figure.
I cannot wait to see a more polished version of the face and presentation.
One nitpick would be about the tank top - I am pretty sure that a pilot like her would wear a bra under it. I find the loose breasts distracting and kinda pointless in such a context.
I wish you'd put the knee strap too, as it is reminiscent of both Luke and Han's outfits.
