Hello! I normally just sit back and view everyone's artwork on the forums but I decided I'll start posting some of my stuff. Started a school project a couple of weeks back for character class. I enjoy CG and high poly 3D stuff so this is where I'm currently at. I sculpted the concept out in zbrush, then retopoed, unwrapped, and textured. Got some more work on the textures yet but its a work in progress! Let me know what you guys think so far!
You definitely have a nice utility thing going on, which is refreshing in a cg world where most of the robots look awesome but could move their elbows more than 5 degrees, this one looks like it would actually work. It does have a bit of a boxy thing going on, working on making the silhouette more interesting might give it a better flow.
Thanks for the feedback. Currently the model is about half way finished. I'm on a bit of a time crunch and knew I wouldn't have enough time to fully finish the mech. This is a military robot and I plan on adding body armor to key hard points, as well as ammo packs and other equipment. A lot of my inspiration has been from Andrew Beck, and Mike Nash, and a studio called Big Lazy Robot.

Thanks for the heads up on the feet. I'll look into making the foot since I've gotta re-work the hydraulics as well. U-joints and rigging doesn't work out very well, and I will be switching to a ball joint system instead.
I love it! It's reminiscent of the law enforcer bots from elysium. I'm really digging the cast aluminum structure too, like you would find in engine blocks. Great work!
