i have so problem or weakness in texturing!and create materials.
how should or can i improve my texturing?generic
for example this is my first scifi map or my first map but i think is not good!and maybe is from texturing: http://puu.sh/8qYQc.jpg
Its a really good start, just add some finer details.
Download HP's and PhilipK's Arbor Vitae scene for UDK, reverse engineer how they've done some of their materials.
A lot of it is context too, there's definitely a lot going on in those scenes your using as reference, different material types ect.
Yeah dDo is really nice, but i would strongly recommend grasping the concept behind doing it by hand before letting a program do it for you, just so you aren't stumped if you land a job and there's no dDo around.
