Zbrush using local disk free space.

Hi,

I would like to ask you if it is normal for Zbrush to use 4go of free memory space while being in use??

I have 4go of free space in my C: drive but after 20min in Zbrush, a message appears telling me I ran out of free space in my C: drive.

Then, I can't save or quit Zbrush normaly, I have to force it to quit.


I'm working on a 40mo file... Why does Zbrush need 4go of my C: drive for?



Using a I5 quad core with 4Gb ram. (Zbrush4r5)

You might want to check the quicksave files as well. If its set to save more frequent backups, those can start to eat up space (especially if they're full projects with several tools and history included)

Yep. Seems it was the quicksaves.
Dunno why Zbrush was making so much saves in such short time.
QS were set to 1 every 20min...

The Rest Save might be the culprit, especially if you alt tab out of the application or leave it idle a lot. By default it is set to save every 1 minute of rest.

Got this advice for UE4, could easily translate to Zbrush's drive paths problems.

I'm running an SSD so yeah zbrush eats that shit up.

I used this to fix UE4, i've junctioned the folder it wants to save stuff to a different drive and it works perfectly if anyone wants to give it a go with zbrush.
