Hi, we are a group of students working on a 10 week game project. The game is being developed in Unity and we are planning to post some of our work as the projects proceeds. The genre of the game is best described as psychological thriller, it's a story driven game with puzzle-elements. The game is set in the 19th century, and the protagonist is an old war veteran who finds out that his daughter have ran away and got her self into some kind of trouble (involving a cult).
3D art and animations will be posted soon.
Here is some of the concept art made by our awesome 2D-artist:
this will be very cool!
will you be posting a playable demo???
i am excited to see where this goes, subbed for sure!
i like 1 and 4 for the char concept
maybe put the coat on 4?
In terms of environments I would say that you could push those concepts a lot further. All those rooms are just simple rectangular shapes with nothing breaking up the room space with the exception of a couple small props on the ground. Here is an example of a crypt scene I found on google.
Notice how the space of the room is broken up by those pillars, arches, and stairs in the background? That is the kind of stuff that will make the environment interesting, and no amount of props placed around the ground can really help a simple 6 sided room look to interesting.
This is the current state of the animations. I have recorded the mocap data and I am still cleaning up a few animations, but the character rig is giving me a hard time. The best option would be to rig the character again from scratch and add additional bones to make the deformation better, but I'm afraid I don't have enough time to do this.
This project just came to an end. The game is far from finished, but our time has ran out. We've learnt a lot during this project and we've also developed as artists. We will keep learning and keep making games. Thank you for your interest in our school project. Here is a gameplay-trailer:
