Hello everyone. This is my first thread here on Polycount. I want this to be a sort of W.I.P thread as I try to finish up my environment.

Summary: This is just a small corner of a room that shows off some props and textures. My goal was an old abandoned post-apocalyptic school. I wanted the scene to be as simple as possible.

Now I’m still pretty new to PBR but I had to give UE4 a shot. There’s still quite a bit of tweaking and improvements to make so I'll try to keep this thread updated with improvements I'll make overtime.

I appreciate any and all kinds of feedback. If you guys want to see something more specific feel free to ask.

The metal parts of the desk - most notably the back brace - are very thick, and the back rest is quite low. This is a fairly typical example:

And this is typical of something from the 60s:

The tiled floor doesn't really work for a school room. Linoleum, carpet, or wood would be a better choice, depending on the time period.

Oh man its been a while. Made some small updates to this.

@DWalker Thanks for the feedback! I went ahead an reduced the size of those bars a bit. I sort of noticed that some bars were actually bigger than others too. I also pushed the seat rest up a bit higher.

I changed the bolts a bit too, but I think I need to make them a bit smaller.

I'm not too worried about accuracy for this environment, but I do agree that a wood floor will probably look better. I mainly wanted to play around with breaking up tiles. :)

I should also work on adding a small carrying space under the seat...
