Hi guys,
Created this MPX-K model. Posted the HP model a while back in WAYWO, spend this weekend to bake the normals etc. Probably wont have any time to work on for nex two months, but wanted to share the progress so far.
@Computron: (sorry late reaction) thanks, well - that's the goal of a normal map right?

Been messing around with the new dDO, which happens to be awesome.
Not sure if I'll pollish these textures (might be damage overkill) or start over again, but thought it'd be worth sharing! Any thoughts?
So, almost half a year later, started experimenting with Substance Painter.
This is what I have so far, excuse the medeocre lighting. There's some stuff still need to be tweaked, but in general I'm fairly content with the result so far.
I'm curious for thoughts about the texture so far. Is it readable, how are the colors, etc.
Thanks in advance!
Also, I'm having troubles with painting in stencil textures. I use hi res maps for these, but the results keep getting jagged or blurred. (Actually using semi blurred stencils now to reduce the jagged edges) Am I missing something?
I think the dirt on the grip and other parts is a bit overdone. Also I would maybe change the color of the paint on the magazine to something other than blue.
Agreed on the grip, that - and the muzzle + stock need some more tweaking.
Just curiosity: Why a different color? Used red first, but it kinda felt like a cheap dried blood.
Much better, though the scrapes are still too even on most edges. Mask away the ones that wouldn't realistically get scraped and put a few standout scrapes here and there to give it a bit more contrast. Some large hue/tone variation would be nice.

How many polygons did that come out to be?
Looks great, its hard to tell whether you're looking at a low or high poly.

Any feedback? (Is it an improvement compared to the previous one? :P )
Sloppy paintover but you get the idea:
@Millenia
Thanks for the tips! Especially the tone / contrasts add a lot in my opinion.
I feel a bit more confident about the texture, but could use (again) some fresh pair of eyes for critique.
