Hey eurrbody. I've just been perplexed by this problem for a while and it's affecting me getting anything done.
I learned how to create a tileable texture, which is great, but now I'm dealing with the continuity of this brick texture to be seamless:
That's too ugly for my taste. How can I combat this? When I line and connect the UV's, to be smooth, they become distorted. I just cannot figure it out.
A friend recommended looking into trims for brick, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around getting a smooth result. Can you guys help?

I'm just wondering, with a medieval forge type deal, mostly they lay down bricks and cement them together. I'm trying to keep in mind realism, and can't find any examples of trim.
Here's an example reference I'm using:
So I guess my other question is, in this sense, what kind of trim should I try out or do?
+1 on the above. You'll never get close to that reference with a tiling texture because your UV's would have to be stitched together and that will cause the brick "flow" to be all over the place.
