I'm not sure how much Polycount would be able to help me with this but I noticed quite a few Australians giving advice in my last post on whether or not Uni was really necessary
I've decided to go for it seeing as I don't see anything kicking off here in Aus/NZ and I don't want to get denied work because my Visa is declined due to a lack of a degree.
Here's the problem I'm facing now, What do I aim for?
I could go a a game specific / 3D specific degree but I found many of the Colleges that offer these degrees don't feel right, I'm not sure what it is but I don't feel they would provide a high quality course.
I could go for a Fine arts degree / traditional degree which are given at Universities. I feel like this would be a better route because many have recommended it even for 3D and it feels more legitimate.
But I'm still lost.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a degree or even a University/College?.

Not sure what Sydney has on offer, I'm in Melbourne but irrespective wherever you decide upon especially here in AUS for the most part our top Uni's - Institutes are highly regarded abroad and similarly I'd recommend as the previous poster commented, learning CG in your own time. I'd also say acquiring a Fine Arts oriented degree aside from VISA considerations, in turn opens a few other doors employment wise not necessarily available too other artistic fields/disciplines minus that nicely scripted embossed piece of paper. Anyhow a few of my picks...south of the border o_0
