I decided to try something i havent really done before and that is making a house. Modeling is not a very big problem but im having a hard time figuring out the best way to do this.
In my opinion you should just start to model a house, just keep in mind while modeling "how to texture the house later". I would put all the details you want into your house…
I modelled more than 200 buildings by my own, so after a few buildings you become the feeling what will work out and where you can become some issues.
A modular system would also work but in my opinion this buildings will look later "modular"...
When using your building in a game engine keep attention for a clean mesh….
If your house is to big for one map you can detach some parts of you house and use separate maps...

Do buildings in modular way. So walls, roofs etc, big pieces will be tiling texture.
Doors, windows, beams, boards small/big etc, will be separate object/model, with separate map/UV.
