Hello,
I'm having issues with what appears to be artifacts and or warping on part
of the arms on this textured jacket. See attached
Steps
1. I created a high res jacket in zbrush, then did a re-topology in Maya using
Nex Tools and created a low res of the high res model.
2. I imported the lowres model into 3D Coat and did the UV's
3. I did the Normap in XNormals with high and low res models
4. Then, I imported this Normap into Maya 2013.
5. I imported a texture(fabric texture) from photoshop to Maya and
applied the texure ontop of the normapped model.
After applying the texture, I'm getting some strange warping on the
fore arms of the jacket.
Please advise, if how this is happening and how best to resolve this
issue.
Thanks

By the way, so far I'm seeing the 3D Coat tends to make UV's more
rounded in general. Like you said, it will require more seems in order to
get closer to rectangular shapes
Thanks for the feedback
this is not entirely true :P
but i agree
patternmaking for fashiondesign is a great book to start with, it goes pretty deep into the topic and describes more that you would ever now from just looking at clothes.
2D flat pattern design.
