Hitting the GRIND

I know exactly what I need to do. I need to practice. I need to just sit down and practice, no tutorials are teaching me anything new about the programs I use. (Though Anatomy is still a bit tricky to remember it all)

I shall start my grind to get my hands to match my mind. It will be taking quite some time, and this didn't start of as a rhyme..

Right now I am able to produce pretty decent props and weapons etc. This is mainly for me to actually start to pursue my desire to be a character artist. So I will be doing most of the work in Zbrush rather than a mix between a bunch of things for the props or weapons :P

What ways of practicing did you find to stick around the most? Is there any specific things you've done that made you go "Wow, I can't believe I was able to get it down so quick." ?

I am thinking to take it extremely slow through the first couple sculpts, but I also see a lot of people doing speed sculpts for practice..

Any tips or tricks? Blogs, articles?

Thank you in advance ~

My best tip is to work in passes, and don't detail any particular area. Do a block out pass, then a form definition pass, and then a detail pass. All my unfinished projects have the same thing in common. I worked on the fun parts and never got to the less interesting parts.
