If it's what people want to see and there's money to be made it will be made. I'd rather him do it than the guy who does all those resident evil movies.
Ridleys had a few misteps latley, prometheus, robin hood, the counsellor (it was ok...). But i think hes still got a few more great movies in him. Im happy hes embracing scifi again. One of the better directors around even if not recently.
Huh, I don't know how they've managed to convinced him to do it for them but kudos anyways, that's great news for me(a fan of the both entities), I just hope he's still going to do the Prometheus sequels, I think part of the problem with Prometheus was people expecting it to be another Alian, when I finally managed to come to terms with the fact that it's not, I started to really enjoy it.
Most of the studios want to transition to digital distribution "to theaters" and put and end to shipping physical film reels to hundreds of thousands locations around the world.
Physical film is a bit of a logistical nightmare, if they don't get it just right and gauge demand perfectly they can easily lose money producing too many reels or lose out on sales if they don't produce enough. But with digital they can push it out quickly at a fraction of the cost.
Physical film is one of the main reasons for staggered release dates.
movies that come from games never turn out to be great and vice versa
You do get that odd special exception that blows everyone away, but with halo I don't think it will be.
343 not only making Halo games but Ridely Scott digital features!? Gah sooooo cool! Cant wait to see what they are working on. I want to work on a Halo digital feature by Ridely Scott! ha

I don't believe I've seen any of those "special exceptions". Did you have an example?
If ridley Scott had made doom it would have been AMAZING. Just be glad they didn't hand halo to JJ Abrams. We don't need the lens flares...
I wanna see Scott and blomkamp work on something together, and I vote halo. Halo needs moar grunge.

Pretty beloved franchise, and his work has been incredibly inconsistent and spotty lately.
Hollywood latches onto an idea and goes at it like a otter after a dead baby seal. You had your fun, it's done, let it go.
I like how the principle game developers are in on this. That should help keep things together.
'digital feature' meaning all computer animated? and it doesn't say anything about this being a series, does it?
Well, that's officially the strangest analogy I've heard today. Kudos.

Sorry for digressing this conversation.... but
This comment was so WTF, I had to google it.
Apparently this is fact:
Rape is the cause of 11% of sea otter deaths? lol
I assume this is also part of the rape scenario- i have no credible witnesses to back this up

I liked them before they turned into zombies vs leeloo dallas multipass
Hmm, that's a good point, i'm still trying to think about that one. I could say countless bad ones. but good ones, that is a hard question by far.
